Sarajevo (1000m): Humid continental climate. Winters are cold and snowy (avg. -1°C January). Summers warm (avg. 26°C July). Spring and autumn pleasant (15–20°C). Snow cover typically December–March.
Mostar and Herzegovina (70m): Almost Mediterranean. Summers very hot and dry (35–40°C July–August). Winters mild (5–12°C). Rain mostly in winter. Practically no snow at valley level.
Mountain areas (Bjelašnica 2067m, Lukomir 1469m): Alpine conditions. Snow from November to April. Cool summers (15–18°C). Access roads can be closed November–April.
