Green Card car insurance — important for drivers
If you are driving a rental car or your own vehicle from Croatia (or other EU countries) into Bosnia, you may need a Green Card (international motor insurance certificate). Bosnia-Herzegovina is not in the EU, so standard EU insurance does not automatically cover BiH. Check with your rental company or insurer before crossing at Metkovic, Neum or other border points. Failure to show a valid Green Card can result in being turned back or fined at the border.
